Samantha obtained her Psychology Honors Degree from the University of Liverpool Hope in the UK and her Masters of Psychology (Counselling Psychology) from Curtin University. She has experience working with people across the lifespan in community mental health, women’s health, and child protection settings.
A large proportion of Samantha’s work and training has focused on providing trauma-informed, attachment-based and culturally sensitive psychological treatment to children, adults and families.
Samantha has completed training in several evidence-based therapeutic techniques. Her approach is integrative and focuses on the therapeutic alliance as a confidential and safe space for healing and growth.
She draws upon treatment modalities including; Interpersonal Psychotherapy, EMDR, Polyvagal Theory, Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Existential Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis, Attachment-Informed Therapy, and creative modalities such as Play and Art Therapy.
