Valda has been working as a therapist for more than 25 years, and knows that the first thing most people want is to feel heard, understood, respected, and valued. And after that, they want help to find solutions to their problems. She helps people who need or want help but may be holding back out of worry about making themselves too vulnerable. Valda teaches skills and principles that help clients communicate and solve problems better, while at the same time developing the flexibility and resilience to handle whatever life throws at them.
Valda follows an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from diverse theories according to each client’s needs or preferences, such as:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Schema Therapy (ST)
- Solutions Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
- Mindfulness Based Therapy
As a couples therapist, she also combines different approaches, including the Gottman’s method and Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focussed Therapy.

Valda runs her own independent practice and engages Clear Health Psychology to provide administrative and other business services to enable her to provide assessment and treatment to her clients.

Sessions rates:
Individuals: $265.00 per appointment
Couples: $275.00 per appointment
Medicare rebate is available with a Mental Health Care Plan for individual appointments.
Cancellation Policy: Appointments are precious and we appreciate you giving at least 48 hours’ notice if you cannot attend. For cancellations under 48 hours, 50% of the session rate will apply with no Medicare rebate. For cancellations under 24 hours, 100% of the session rate will apply with no Medicare rebate.
Please note: Valda sees individuals over 18 yrs, couples, and families.
