Kelly has extensive knowledge and experience in cognitive and neurodevelopment assessment and offers evidence-based interventions. Kelly tailors psychological therapy to meet the needs of clients who are experiencing stressful life transitions, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief and loss.
She has been trained in several evidence based therapeutic techniques including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT); Relaxation and Mindfulness practices; Solutions Focused Therapy (SFBT); Family Systems therapy and Triple P Parenting Stepping Stones program.
Kelly completed her undergraduate psychology degree at Edith Cowan University and received an Honours degree in Psychology from James Cook University in Queensland. Kelly then completed a Master of Applied Psychology in Educational and Developmental Psychology with a Graduate Diploma in Education (coursework and practicums) at the University of Western Australia.
Kelly is a passionate advocate for the strength and resilience of the human brain, that throughout our lives our brains continue to rewire and change when we apply ourselves to learning and practicing new functional ways of seeing and experiencing the world. Kelly’s approach to therapy is person centred, and she works alongside clients to promote a shared responsibility for trust in the therapeutic process empowering them to create meaningful, lasting change for themselves. Kelly assists her clients to feel safe and nurtured, trusting in the confidential nature of what they share, respecting and admiring their strong act of courage and humility displayed by clients taking steps towards change.
Kelly runs her own independent practice and engages Clear Health Psychology to provide administrative and other business services to enable her to provide assessment and treatment to her clients. Appointments are for 51 minutes at a rate of $195 and can attract a Medicare rebate with a Mental Health Care Plan. Appointments are precious and we appreciate you giving at least 24 hours notice if you can’t attend, otherwise 50% of the full fee will apply with no Medicare rebate.
