He uses an integrative approach drawing from the principles and understandings of psychodynamic, interpersonal and cognitive-behavioural therapies in an attempt to cater for his clients’ unique needs, preferences and circumstances.
His approach is also based on clear expectations about how he and his clients will work together to alleviate their distress and in a general sense aimed at better self-understanding, the know-how to make the necessary changes for a more fulfilling life as well as being equipped to manage future difficulties.
Gerard completed a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Pretoria, South Africa and is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society.
Gerard runs his own independent practice and engages Clear Health Psychology to provide administrative and other business services to enable him to provide assessment and treatment to his clients. Appointments are for 51 minutes at a rate of $245 and can attract a Medicare rebate with a Mental Health Care Plan. Appointments are precious and we appreciate you giving at least 24 hours notice if you can’t attend, otherwise 50% of the full fee will apply with no Medicare rebate.
