Georgina is passionate about making this phase in life as meaningful and fulfilling as possible, recognising the value of older adulthood, and the spiritual dimensions to ageing and its final phases.
When providing services to older adults in residential aged care, Georgina fosters a supportive relationship, validating the older person’s journey, needs and story. She knows the value of an open listening ear in a strange environment.
With a special interest in story and writing, Georgina works with reminiscing activities to elicit memories and strengths that validate older people’s lives. These conversations often lead to unresolved lifespan issues, which once revealed, are available for healing and peaceful integration into a person’s sense of who they are.
Georgina also understands the value of working with others, whether that be facility staff or family members to support the quality of life of people new to living in residential care. Small things can make a big difference.
Georgina recognises the value of peace of mind in palliative care and has supported many in this final phase. Spiritual and existential questions arise. She is at home as the person to voice, and listen to, the questions often floating in the back of people’s minds.
Georgina runs her own independent practice and engages Clear Health Psychology to provide administrative and other business services to enable her to provide assessment and treatment to her clients.
