Clinical Experience and Background
Emily began her career as a sport psychologist at the NSW Institute of Sport, providing elite athletes with mental skills training to help them achieve peak performance. Over the years, she has worked in occupational rehabilitation (mainly with NSW Police Force and NSW Department of Education), corporate psychology, mediation, and HR consulting. However, her true passion lies in counselling and helping individuals in a clinical setting.
In her recent practice over the last five years, Emily has enjoyed looping back to her sport psychology roots, integrating key principles into her treatment of elite athletes. This has allowed her to work closely with high-performance individuals, including specific work with the AFL and netball.
Her experience as a mother of three further informs her work with both parents and young adults, shaping the deep compassion she feels for people in all walks and stages of life.
With her extensive experience, Emily supports adults facing a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression and anxiety, stress, grief and loss, chronic pain, self-esteem issues, relationship challenges, parenting difficulties, and mental skills training for both elite and non-elite athletes.
Emily runs her own independent practice and engages Clear Health Psychology to provide administrative and business support, allowing her to focus on delivering high-quality assessment and treatment to her clients.
