Ben has experience working therapeutically with a wide range of clients in the community from a variety of backgrounds. Ben has previously worked for a number of years as a Senior Psychologist in the justice system. This has involved providing therapeutic rehabilitative services to offenders in Western Australian prisons and the community, and clinical supervision to practitioners working within the justice system.
Ben works with clients using a psychological counselling approach tailored to each individual’s needs. He uses cognitive behaviour therapy, interpersonal therapy, schema therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy, as well as motivational interviewing and solution focused techniques to assist clients in their lives.
Ben can provide shorter-term brief therapy focused on outcomes, or engage in long-term therapy, depending on clients’ needs and goals.
Ben works with individuals from the age of 16 + years, adults, couples, and families across a wide range of issues including;
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Grief and loss
- Addictions (substance use, gambling etc.)
- Problem behaviours
- Offending behaviour (male/female, all offence categories and risk levels)
- Interpersonal challenges
- Relationship issues
Ben runs his own independent practice and engages Clear Health Psychology to provide administrative and other business services to enable him to provide assessment and treatment to his clients.
Appointment duration: 51 minutes
Sessions rates:
Individuals: $225.00 per appointment
Couples: $245.00 per appointment
Family Counselling: $285.00 per appointment
Medicare rebate is available with a Mental Health Care Plan for individual appointments.
Cancellation Policy: Appointments are precious and we appreciate you giving at least 48 hours’ notice if you cannot attend. For cancellations under 48 hours, 50% of the session rate will apply with no Medicare rebate. For cancellations under 24 hours, 100% of the session rate will apply with no Medicare rebate.
Please note: Ben accepts appointments with clients age 16+, couples and families.
