Barbara has a warm, open & approachable manner and considers it a privilege to provide psychological support to an individual. She values the courage taken by the person to initiate seeking mental health intervention.
She acknowledges this to be one of the most important steps a person can take toward making a significant difference to one’s quality of life, making it richer & more meaningful. She is committed to promoting better outcomes in mental health, well-being and life experiences of individuals.

She has a special interest & expertise in working with people with a work related or motor vehicle injury, chronic pain, medical conditions, ailments and disabilities that impact on a person’s psychological well-being & mental health.

Barbara brings a breadth of experience & depth of knowledge to therapy sessions having accumulated skills and abilities directly from working with people in government occupational rehabilitation services, disability services commission, community mental health clinics both child & adolescents & adult services and older adults mental health.

You will be provided with a comprehensive initial clinical assessment, researched evidenced based interventions that are individually tailored to your needs, regular monitoring and review of progress and evaluation of outcome.

Barbara is a registered Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA having Master’s Degree training in specific mental health disorders inclusive of assessment, diagnosis and treatment intervention.

Barbara is a Member of The Australian Psychological Society (APS) and a Fellow of The APS College of Clinical Psychologists. In addition, she has Membership with AACBT- Australian Association of Cognitive Therapy & ACBS ANZ & GLOBAL- Association of Contextual Behavioural Sciences.

Types of therapy modalities that Barbara uses include; a strong Cognitive Behavioural Therapy foundation, Strengths based work, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Solution Focussed Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

Barbara works with Adults (clients over 18 + years) and practices on Tuesday, Wednesday and offers some Monday sessions.

Barbara runs her own independent practice and engages Clear Health Psychology to provide administrative and other business services to enable her to provide assessment and treatment to her clients. Appointments are for 51 minutes at a rate of $260 and can attract a Medicare rebate with a Mental Health Care Plan.
Appointments are precious and we appreciate you giving at least 24 hours notice if you can’t attend, otherwise 50% of the full fee will apply with no Medicare rebate.
