Dr Jeremy Marriott aims to improve mental health by providing a person-centered, comprehensive and pragmatic approach to Clinical Psychology. This has been formed by a background of real experiences in the field, academic/clinical achievements and staying up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based approaches. Dr Marriott holds undergraduate, honours, masters and PhD degrees and is registered with AHPRA and the APS.

Dr Marriott is pleased to see anyone who is pleased to see him. He prides himself on being ever ready to apply his knowledge and experience whilst thriving in case complexity. He is known to work with treatment and diagnostic complexity as well as people (of all ages) with have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Further, he is an endorsed ASD diagnostician. He offers individual, family and Positive Behaviour Support consults, an array of psychometric assessments, detailed /understandable reports and an appropriate sense of humour. Dr Maxine Hawkins is the Principal Clinical Psychologist and Managing Director of Clear Health Psychology. Maxine has endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society.

Maxine is an experienced Clinical Psychologist who works with adults and adolescents in the areas of depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, stress management, chronic illness, self-esteem and trauma (including road accidents and WorkCover). She also has experience and knowledge with patients considering bariatric surgery.

Maxine uses her extensive clinical experience to assist in understanding complex presentations. Her strengths are in her formulation skills to determine effective and individualised plans to meet client's treatment goals.  Maxine combines components from the modalities of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy and psychodynamic approaches with clients.

Clinical experience and background

Dr Hawkins has 17 years experience working in Clinical Psychology. She has worked as a senior Clinical Psychologist across a number of hospitals in Melbourne and Perth in the areas of psycho-oncology, palliative care, cystic fibrosis, lung transplant, sleep disorders and chronic illness. She completed her doctorate at The University of Melbourne.  She moved to Perth in 2011 which she now calls home. Dr Hawkins was the Clinical Director of Edith Cowan University Psychological Services Centre and Senior Lecturer. She lectured in the post-graduate clinical stream and provided clinical supervision in the clinical masters/doctoral programs. She has also worked as a Professional Officer - Psychology for the Australian Regulatory Health Agency.  Maxine is passionate about evidenced based and quality mental health.  She now works full-time private practice.

Donna Stambulich is a Registered Psychologist with AHPRA and the Director of Clear Health Psychology Currambine. Donna has over 10 years of clinical experience in the treatment of alcohol and other substance abuse and misuse disorders, comorbidity, trauma and general psychological disorders including anxiety, depression and self-harming behaviours. Other areas of interest include Workplace Mental Health, Screen Addiction, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, attachment and the treatment of emotional distress resulting from grief.

Donna’s therapeutic approach is to provide a supportive and non-judgemental atmosphere in which people can feel safe to explore the nature and meaning of their present difficulties, and so find effective ways to resolve them.

Donna utilises clinically proven and evidence-based therapies. Different treatment approaches are used to best suit the client(s) and their goals. The type of treatment provided can range from brief, focused treatment for acute symptoms or problems, to more long-term therapy for entrenched personality, relationship or coping issues. Therapies include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Skills, Schema Therapy and NA/AA 12 step work.

Donna has worked in residential alcohol and other drug addiction treatment centres since 2004 as a Clinical Program Co-ordinator. She has recently completed a study into Vicarious Trauma Among Clinicians. Donna is also a published academic in the area of Second Families, Child Support and the Family Court System. She is also a mother of two young children and gives back to her community in a variety of settings, sitting on several Boards and Steering Committees.

Dr Elinor van Ommen is a Clinical Psychologist known for her holistic approach to psychological wellbeing. Elinor’s therapeutic focus is to understand the whole person, not just a collection of symptoms, and to help people identify and transcend unhelpful patterns that keep them feeling ‘stuck’. Elinor draws on a number of evidence-based therapies to tailor therapy to the needs and strengths of each client. Therapies include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based therapies, Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic principles, Solution Focused Therapy, Compassion-based approaches.

Elinor has many years’ experience working in mental health clinics in both Melbourne and Perth, conducting individual and group therapy with inpatient and outpatient groups. She also has experience in educational settings and aged care. Elinor combines the professional knowledge from her clinical training with her warmth and compassion to facilitate a safe space for understanding, change and growth.

Elinor’s qualifications include Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology), Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology)(Honours), and Doctor of Psychology (Clinical Psychology).

Elinor is also a board-approved Clinical supervisor, a member of the Australian Psychological Society and a Fellow of the College of Clinical Psychologists.

Malcolm is a versatile and dynamic therapist whose approach is grounded in humour, compassion and genuineness. He understands that the idea of therapy can stir up all kinds of thoughts (worries) and feelings and seeks to help clients overcome this through his down to earth and personable style.

Malcolm’s approach to therapy is based on one central idea … “the whole point of seeing a psychologist is for things to change”. Changes that are for the better and changes that last. In reality, this is much easier said than done, but this is just a fact and not an obstacle. Malcolm works to build and nurture each client’s confidence in themselves and their ability to achieve their therapeutic goals.

Malcolm will introduce you to new ideas and perspectives about yourself, relationships and life and will actively challenge what you think, believe and hold to be true. His experience includes working with all client groups – families, couples, individuals, adolescents and children.

Malcolm has been a practising psychologist and Member of the Australian Psychological Society for over 20 years. He has extensive experience working in the WA prison system, in addition to his work in programs for the homeless, worker’s compensation/rehabilitation, domestic violence and youth outreach.

Malcolm utilises empirically validated treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MCBT). He also draws on Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Existential Therapy and Provocative Therapy as well as incorporating knowledge and ideas from the fields of biology, neuroscience and philosophy. Malcolm has also recently completed training in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR).

Malcolm is also skilled in providing professional clinical supervision to psychologists of varying levels of experience.

Michelle is an experienced Psychologist who is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia. She works with clients of varying ages including adults, adolescents and children. Her areas of experience and interest include trauma, phobias, anxiety, panic disorder, separation anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, work-related problems, parenting challenges, adjustment to chronic illness, grief and low self-esteem.

Michelle utilises effective psychological treatments which include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative and Solution Focussed Brief Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Michelle will tailor therapy to each person’s unique needs.

Michelle first began working in mental health 17 years ago and has been a registered psychologist for the past 13 years. She has worked in a variety of roles which include trauma services (including war-related trauma), community mental health, vocational rehabilitation, child protection and private practice. She is passionate about working in partnership with clients and creating meaningful change for better psychological health.

Jenna works with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings. Jenna is available to conduct Cognitive, Intelligence and ADHD testing for children and adults. She utilises a range of evidence-based strategies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Emotion Focussed Therapy (EFT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).

Jenna has a Master’s in Health Psychology and Clinical Psychology. Jenna tailors her approach to therapy based on the individual circumstances of her client and their presenting issue. In all aspects of the therapeutic relationship, Jenna emphasises a non-judgmental, collaborative and goal-orientated process, in which her clients feel understood, heard, respected and supported assisting them to establish an optimistic outlook for the future.

Laura Smitham

Laura is a registered psychologist with 20 years of clinical experience in the treatment of general and specific mental health disorders. She believes people can achieve success and positive outcomes through the process of therapy and helping them to engage with their positive supports/activities.

Laura will work with people using a non-judgemental, empathic and supportive approach in her counselling, whilst helping them to achieve their goals. Laura has extensive experience working with people who have mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorders, grief and trauma, attachment, bipolar disorder and personality disorders, people at risk of offending, drug and alcohol misuse and self-harm.

She uses evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focussed Therapy and Mindfulness to help people achieve their goals and achieve positive wellbeing. Laura is trained in the Triple P parenting programme and the Circle of Security attachment parenting programme.

Laura also helps people to overcome their low self-esteem issues and to manage their stress, grief and loss. She works with individuals and their families who live with a disability, to help them to have a positive life and to reduce any challenging issues.

Clinical Experience and Background

Laura has worked in mental health organisations including Joondalup Community Mental Health and Injury Management organisations providing assessments, counselling, and support. Laura worked in London for just under 4 years as a psychologist for the social services organisation, Children’s Direct Services. She worked with people who had disabilities and provided counselling to people and their families who lived with a life-threatening illness.

On returning to Perth she then worked at the Autism Association of W.A on the clinical team for 5 years, at the Disability Services Commission for 4 years as a Team Leader and Senior Psychologist. Laura provides talks in the community about managing stress and trauma, about supporting people who have a disability or mental health condition using positive behaviour support strategies. She has an interest in working with adults and children who have an Autism Spectrum Condition.

Laura has completed a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) at Curtin University achieved in 1997, Post Grad Diploma of Psychology (Advanced - Rehabilitation Counselling) achieved in 1998.

Felicity is a registered Clinical Psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor with AHPRA.

Felicity is experienced in working alongside adults and adolescents who are experiencing distress in everyday life. She helps clients to develop a better understanding of the origins of problem behaviours so that they are able to make changes that go beyond symptom relief. Felicity’s areas of interest include eating disorders, interpersonal difficulties, personality issues, substance use issues, mood and anxiety disorders, domestic violence behaviours and relationship issues.

Felicity combines components from therapeutic approaches including Contextual Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Process Therapy, and attachment- based interventions.

Clinical experience and background

Felicity obtained her Masters qualification in Clinical Psychology at Curtin University of Technology and has over 10 years experience working in Clinical and Forensic Psychology. She has worked as a senior Clinical Psychologist in various forensic settings and is very experienced in working with clients who present with significant resistance to engaging in treatment. Her long history with forensic clients has allowed her to develop strong interpersonal skills that focus on building a safe and warm therapeutic space for clients. Felicity believes that therapy is a time for self-reflection and gentle persuasion to confront those issues that hurt us and prevent us from moving forward in life.

Su obtained her Masters of Psychology (Counselling) qualification through Curtin University of Technology and has accumulated diverse skills, knowledge, and capability from studying and working in the public and private sectors as a team leader, workforce development consultant, psychologist, and research associate and sessional academic. Su is an experienced researcher and has published in peer-reviewed journals in areas including: person-centred and self-directed care and recovery in mental health consumers; primary carers’ occupational adaptation and engagement; and the enablers and barriers of social inclusion for young adults with intellectual disability.

Poonam obtained her Psychology qualification through Curtin University of Technology and has worked over several years in government organisations and private practice using an evidenced based, client centred approach. She has worked with corrective services as a Registered Psychologist running group programs, assessment and counselling services. Poonam believes every client is different and tailors her approach to that which best suits the client’s needs. She believes in providing a safe therapeutic environment where clients are able to express their concerns without fear of judgement. Poonam helps clients understand their triggers, create self-awareness and provide them with skills to improve their wellbeing. Poonam is fluent in both English and Gujarati.

Janet Gallagher is a Clinical Psychologist registered with AHPRA.

Janet works from a strength-based perspective, working alongside individuals, couples and families to achieve their goals and work towards wellbeing. Janet is experienced in working with children and adolescents, the areas of anxiety, depression, challenging behaviours, self-esteem, bonding and attachment difficulty, trauma and abuse, post-traumatic stress, parental separation and divorce. With adults, in working with depression and anxiety, personality disorders, parenting support (PPP, Circle of security, attachment parenting), trauma and abuse and adjusting to life change.

She has been trained in several evidence based therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Focused CBT, Schema Therapy and many other Psychotherapy models.

Janet obtained her Honours in Psychology with Human Resource Management at Middlesex University in the UK and Masters in Clinical Psychology at Edith Cowan University. Janet has a number of years’ experience working in private practice and in children and family services. Whilst most of Janet’s experience has been working with at risk children and families, focusing on childhood trauma and abuse, Janet also has experience working in many other fields of psychology across the lifespan. Janet continues to be involved in research that is involved with Children in Out of Home Care, specifically kinship care.

Andrew Meyer is a Registered Psychologist who is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

Andrew is experienced in working with adolescents and adults in the areas of depression, anxiety, and stress related issues, addictions (substances, gambling and alcohol), grief and loss, self-esteem, confidence building, sexuality and relationship difficulties.

He has been trained in several evidence based therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and Narrative Therapy. Andrew works with a strengths-based approach and helps consolidate clients build upon and improve areas such as communication, conflict resolution, anger management and relationship issues. Andrew believes that creating positive client relationships, rapport and trust are the key to a safe and effective therapeutic journey for his clients.

Clinical experience and background

Andrew obtained his Psychology qualification through Curtin University of Technology. He has experience working in private practice and a background as a Registered Psychologist with corrective services running offender focused rehabilitation programs both within the prison context and within the community, to co-facilitate in psycho-educational, emotion-focused and therapeutic and rehabilitation-based programs.

His approach to therapy is to create curiosity, openness and motivation with his clients. Andrew believes these components are highly effective in reaching treatment goals and helping people to return to their desired self. Andrew’s aim is to treat everyone he works with, with respect, dignity and in a non-judgmental way. He has a wide range of experience working primarily with adult and adolescent clients with a broad range of presenting issues.

Jeff is experienced in working with adolescents and adults around issues including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, grief and loss, adjustment and trauma reactions, interpersonal / relationship conflicts and addiction.

Accessing support can be daunting and as such, Jeff’s warm and engaging style aims to create a safe and relaxed space to work through challenges. Jeff’s therapeutic approach is client-centered and collaborative, utilizing evidence-based techniques from CBT, DBT, ACT, Schema, Motivational Interviewing and Interpersonal Psychotherapy modalities.

Jeff obtained his Psychology qualifications through Murdoch University. He started his career at the Education department working with difficult to engage young people. Jeff has also worked in the criminal justice system and more recently in youth mental health, drug and alcohol services and private practice.

Mary Collura-Oldham

Mary is a Registered Psychologist with over 16 years’ experience in psychological practice.  She works with individuals, couples and families.  In her earlier career she worked within the public sector in a range of roles including human resources, industrial relations and policy development. After completing her Masters she worked for Relationships Australia before moving into private practice.  She now divides her time between her psychological counselling practice and contract assessment work within the public sector.

Mary adopts a range of treatment interventions depending on the client’s needs – including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Relaxation techniques and other psychotherapeutic approaches. 

She fosters a respectful and compassionate therapeutic space for clients to explore and develop deeper insight and awareness of their own process.  Through this practice of deeper reflection and self-examination, clients are afforded simple opportunities to cultivate and foster more authentic and meaningful lives and relationships for themselves.  Clients often find, that this approach in turn helps engender a greater sense of peace, well-being and acceptance both of self and others. 

Emily Loh

Emily is a registered psychologist with AHPRA. 

She has been working as a psychologist for the last 16 years, providing support and assistance to people experiencing mental health issues across a range of fields. Emily navigates treatment with sincerity and compassion which helps put people at ease. She works collaboratively with clients to reach therapy goals using evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness and solution focused therapy.  

Clinical Experience and Background

Emily started her career as a sport psychologist at the NSW Institute of Sport, providing elite athletes with mental skills training to assist them to achieve their peak performance. She has also worked within the fields of occupational rehabilitation (mainly with NSW Police Force and NSW Department of Education), corporate psychology, mediation and HR consulting, however her true passion lies with counselling and helping individuals in a clinical setting.

Emily can assist adults with a full range of mental health issues including depression and anxiety, stress, grief and loss, chronic pain, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, parenting challenges and mental skills training for both elite and non-elite athletes.

Angela Neuhof

Angela is a registered psychologist with AHPRA and has over 14 years’ experience providing counselling and psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults.

Angela is experienced in working with clients for a range of issues including: anxiety; depression; self-harm; grief and loss; self-esteem and body image issues; life transitions and adjustment difficulties; school refusal; stress management; relationship/interpersonal difficulties and post and perinatal depression/anxiety. While Angela specialises in working with children and adolescents, she is experienced in working with clients of all ages to achieve long-term change.    

Angela is passionate about client-centred therapy and applies a holistic approach.   She values the importance of utilising a 'team' approach with her clients to equip them with strategies that will benefit them outside of the therapeutic space, so they can flourish and lead a life that has purpose and meaning for them. Angela takes a great deal of care in creating an environment of safety and acceptance so that her clients feel comfortable and supported as individuals. 

Angela is trained in a number of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Play and Art Therapy.  She believes that there is no ‘one size fits all’ method to therapy and approaches are always tailored to meet the specific needs of the client.

Angela received her psychology degree with honours at the University of Western Australia, before completing a Graduate Diploma of Education (specialising in School Psychology) at the same university.  Angela has worked as a school psychologist in regional, remote and metropolitan areas and in a youth organisation specialising in depression and anxiety.  She is also a highly experienced training facilitator, conducting mental health workshops for community groups.

Psychologist

Kathy Kirwan is a Counselling Psychologist who is a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) College of Counselling Psychologists.  She is also a member of the Association of Counselling Psychologists (ACP). She is experienced in working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and couples.

Kathy starts her work from a stance that the client is the expert in their life and the counselling provides a space for that knowledge to combine with her experience and expertise as we work towards the client’s goals in a safe emotional space. 

Kathy has completed training in several evidence based therapeutic techniques including Emotionally Focused Therapy (for couples, Gottman’s Therapy (for couples), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (for anxiety, trauma, PTSD, grief), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and others.

Clinical experience and background

Kathy graduated from Curtin University in the Master of Psychology (Counselling) program.  Kathy’s early work in counselling was focused on relationship difficulties, sexuality and sexual health issues.  She has extensive experience working in Employee Assistance Programs providing counselling for workplace and personal issues that included anxiety, depression and stress, work/life balance, trauma, PTSD, relationship difficulties, sexuality and sexual health issues.  She has worked as a senior manager which can be invaluable for understanding workplace complexities.  Her more recent experience has involved working in Private Practice.

Amanda is a registered Counselling Psychologist with AHPRA. She is experienced in working with adolescents and adults facing challenges with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief and loss, relationship issues and life transitions such as first-time motherhood/parenthood. 

Amanda focuses on creating a safe space where the client feels able to explore and make sense of their internal world and with new understanding create change in their life. She views therapeutic work as a partnership with the client, each working together to facilitate the client realising their goals.

Amanda has been trained in several evidence based therapeutic techniques including: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Mode Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT); Existential Therapy; Brain Based Therapy and Relaxation and Mindfulness practices.

Clinical Experience and Background

Amanda obtained her Masters of Psychology (Counselling) through Curtin University of Technology.  Amanda has worked in private practice for a number of years and prior that worked in community organisations for over ten years.

Over the course of her working history Amanda written and co-facilitated group programs for young people navigating their way through grief and loss, and for young people and their primary carers experiencing attachment disruption. She has provided therapy to individuals and couples primarily coming from an attachment framework.  Amanda has worked with a diverse client population in a variety of settings and recognises how unique each client is, her priority is getting to know the client, meeting them where they are at and drawing on models that are an appropriate therapeutic fit for each client.
