Emily is a registered psychologist with AHPRA. 

She has been working as a psychologist for the last 16 years, providing support and assistance to people experiencing mental health issues across a range of fields. Emily navigates treatment with sincerity and compassion which helps put people at ease. She works collaboratively with clients to reach therapy goals using evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness and solution focused therapy.  

Clinical Experience and Background

Emily started her career as a sport psychologist at the NSW Institute of Sport, providing elite athletes with mental skills training to assist them to achieve their peak performance. She has also worked within the fields of occupational rehabilitation (mainly with NSW Police Force and NSW Department of Education), corporate psychology, mediation and HR consulting, however her true passion lies with counselling and helping individuals in a clinical setting.

Emily can assist adults with a full range of mental health issues including depression and anxiety, stress, grief and loss, chronic pain, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, parenting challenges and mental skills training for both elite and non-elite athletes.

Angela Neuhof

Angela is a Registered Psychologist with AHPRA and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

Angela has extensive experience counselling adults, children and adolescents in the not-for-profit and education sectors, and working with parents to achieve best possible outcomes for all. She is also a highly experienced training facilitator, conducting mental health workshops in high schools and for community groups. She is passionate about client-centred therapy and takes a holistic approach, assisting clients to not only alleviate their distress, but understand the cause and move towards creating a life that has purpose and meaning for them.

Angela is trained in a number of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution Focused Therapy. Angela believes that there is no ‘one size fits all’ method to therapy. Approaches are always adapted to meet the specific needs of the client.

Clinical experience and background

Angela completed her undergraduate degree with honours at the University of Western Australia, before completing a Graduate Diploma of Education (specialising in School Psychology) at the same university. She has worked in a community based, not-for-profit organisation, specialising in depression and anxiety. Angela has also worked with young people in regional, remote and metro schools and has found the issues that adolescents face to be similar, despite geographical location – leading to an extensive understanding of the difficulties and challenges associated with this period of life.

Kathy Kirwan

Kathy Kirwan is a Counselling Psychologist who is a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) College of Counselling Psychologists.  She is also a member of the Association of Counselling Psychologists (ACP). She is experienced in working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and couples.

Kathy starts her work from a stance that the client is the expert in their life and the counselling provides a space for that knowledge to combine with her experience and expertise as we work towards the client’s goals in a safe emotional space. 

Kathy has completed training in several evidence based therapeutic techniques including Emotionally Focused Therapy (for couples, Gottman’s Therapy (for couples), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (for anxiety, trauma, PTSD, grief), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and others.

Clinical experience and background

Kathy graduated from Curtin University in the Master of Psychology (Counselling) program.  Kathy’s early work in counselling was focused on relationship difficulties, sexuality and sexual health issues.  She has extensive experience working in Employee Assistance Programs providing counselling for workplace and personal issues that included anxiety, depression and stress, work/life balance, trauma, PTSD, relationship difficulties, sexuality and sexual health issues.  She has worked as a senior manager which can be invaluable for understanding workplace complexities.  Her more recent experience has involved working in Private Practice.

Amanda is a registered Counselling Psychologist with AHPRA. She is experienced in working with adolescents and adults facing challenges with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief and loss, relationship issues and life transitions such as first-time motherhood/parenthood. 

Amanda focuses on creating a safe space where the client feels able to explore and make sense of their internal world and with new understanding create change in their life. She views therapeutic work as a partnership with the client, each working together to facilitate the client realising their goals.

Amanda has been trained in several evidence based therapeutic techniques including: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Mode Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT); Existential Therapy; Brain Based Therapy and Relaxation and Mindfulness practices.

Amanda obtained her Masters of Psychology (Counselling) through Curtin University of Technology.  Amanda has worked in private practice for a number of years and prior that worked in community organisations for over ten years.

Over the course of her working history Amanda written and co-facilitated group programs for young people navigating their way through grief and loss, and for young people and their primary carers experiencing attachment disruption. She has provided therapy to individuals and couples primarily coming from an attachment framework.  Amanda has worked with a diverse client population in a variety of settings and recognises how unique each client is, her priority is getting to know the client, meeting them where they are at and drawing on models that are an appropriate therapeutic fit for each client.

She enjoys working with clients, providing a safe and non-judgmental environment, and helping them to acquire and improve their knowledge and skills in managing their emotions to enable a happier and more fulfilled lifestyle.

Janet obtained a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) at Curtin University; and Bachelor of Psychology and Master of Applied Psychology at Murdoch University. As a nationally accredited Mediator she has experience in dealing with conflict in the workplace. She has worked as a Registered Psychologist in private practice; with the ADF; with asylum seekers in Detention centres using interpreters to provide psychological services to torture and trauma survivors. She is also experienced in the provision of EAP services in a wide variety of areas including the provision of both face to face interventions, and telephone counselling; assisting managers with organisational issues; attending traumas and critical incidents; and providing mental health training in a variety of remote environments.

Janet focuses on providing a safe and non-judgemental environment in which clients can feel comfortable in expressing their concerns, and tailoring her approach to best suit the individual client needs to facilitate their overall well being.

Elisa is a registered psychologist and member of the Australian Psychological Society. Elisa is passionate about working with a range of mental health issues experienced by children, adolescents and adults. These include anxiety, depression, phobias, relationship challenges, adjustment issues, challenges with family dynamics, post-natal difficulties, parenting issues, distress associated with chronic pain conditions, work related stress, and communication issues. 

She has experience working with a range of issues including depression, anxiety, personality disorders, work related stress, auditory hallucinations and schizophrenia, challenges with daily living skills associated with intellectual disability, adjustment issues, relationship difficulties, attachment issues and trauma associated with neglect.

Elisa uses an integrative approach to meet clients' needs. She has training in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), brief solution focused therapy, and behaviourist therapy models. She also has interests in schema therapy and psychodynamic models. Elisa seeks to create a therapeutic space which is warm, engaging, respectful, trusting and collaborative. Elisa completed her Masters of Applied Psychology (Clinical Psychology) in 2018 at Murdoch University, obtained a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology in 2010 and Diploma of Education (School Psychology) in 2011 from The University of Western Australia. She has previously worked as a school psychologist, in youth counselling and in adult mental health. While most of her work has focused on individual sessions and inter-agency liaison work, she has also hosted workshops for parents using the Triple P parenting framework, workshops for staff, and has co-facilitated dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) group sessions for adults with borderline personality disorder.

Elisa's research interests include childhood obesity, perinatal depression and parent-child attachment. Most recently, her research has focused on factors contributing to maternal perinatal depression and anxiety and how this affects young children's social and emotional development.

Kelly has worked in the field of childhood development, mental healthcare, counselling, education, developmental psychology, research and therapy for 17 years. Kelly is experienced in working with children, teens, adults and couples struggling with stresses that impact developing and maintaining healthy and meaningful relationships at home, in the community and the workplace. She also specialises in working with parents and other family members to assist children with attachment issues learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.

Kelly has extensive knowledge and experience in cognitive and neurodevelopment assessment and offers evidence-based interventions. Kelly tailors psychological therapy to meet the needs of clients who are experiencing stressful life transitions, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief and loss. Kelly completed her undergraduate psychology degree at Edith Cowan University and received an Honours degree in Psychology from James Cook University in Queensland. Kelly then completed a Master of Applied Psychology in Educational and Developmental Psychology with a Graduate Diploma in Education (coursework and practicums) at the University of Western Australia.

Kelly is a passionate advocate for the strength and resilience of the human brain, that throughout our lives our brains continue to rewire and change when we apply ourselves to learning and practicing new functional ways of seeing and experiencing the world. Valentina obtained her Psychology qualification through Curtin University of Technology and has over 15 years of experience working with people in various Community Based organisations and for the last 7 years in Private Practice working with children, adults, couples and families. Coming from a former Yugoslav background she is particularly tuned to the role of culture in communication and relationships and uses this in the therapy space to explore personal values and beliefs systems. Her personal style is towards collaborative approaches that inspire curiosity, hope and empower change.

Valentina is also fluent in Croatian, Serbian & Bosnian languages.

Debra is am APHRA registered psychologist, an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society, and a Clinical Member of the Australian Association of Family Therapists Inc. (AAFT).

Debra is a down to earth and relatable psychologist, who brings a non-judgemental and honest approach to working with clients. She believes that everyone has the potential to live a fulfilling life and works with clients to identify and understand blockages that prevent the client from living the life they want. Debra enjoys helping clients develop skills, so they are better able to manage life’s challenges.

Debra obtained her degree at Curtin University and has been a registered psychologist since 2010. She has worked in the private and public sectors and has experience working with couples, families, adolescents, children, and adults.

Her career started in Human Resources working within the private and government sectors. This experience is supported by a Master of Applied Psychology (Organisational). Her experience working in organisations means she understands and can assist with coping with office politics, the challenges of work-related stress, interpersonal issues at work, and career transitions.

Debra has experience working with couples and families in crises, this area of interest is supported by a Graduate Diploma of Relationship Counselling. Debra has experience working with adults and children who have experienced childhood trauma (e.g., sexual abuse, violence) gained from her work in the private sector and experience working with adolescents gained from her time working with young offenders.

Debra has a non-judgemental honest approach to counselling. Drawing from a systemic approach and using evidence-based approaches (e.g., Interpersonal Process, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing) she enjoys working collaboratively with clients.

Jodie is a Registered Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience in psychological practice. She works with individuals, couples and children in the areas of Anxiety and Depression, Work Related Stress, PTSD, OCD, Substance Abuse and Grief. In her earlier career she worked in the field of Organisational Psychology within the public and private sector in a range of roles including human resources, psychological assessment for employment and career/outplacement counselling and across many industry sectors such as Mining, Banking, Hospitality and Health.

Jodie adopts a range of treatment interventions depending on the client’s needs – including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness, Solution-focused Therapy, EMDR, Relaxation techniques and other psychotherapeutic approaches. Jodie’s style of counselling is warm and practical, and she values getting to the problem quickly and providing her clients with the necessary skills to move forward as well as dealing with any underlying issues. She seeks to engender a greater sense of well-being and acceptance both of self and others.

She uses an approach that is client-centred and collaborative and has a warm and non-judgemental style that helps to create a safe therapeutic space.

Jamie completed her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and has over 10 years’ experience working in the public sector. She has worked in community mental health clinics, as well as hospital inpatient and outpatient settings. She particularly enjoys working with clients and families impacted by stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, and dementia.

Rebecca Chau is a Clinical Psychology Registrar, is registered with AHPRA, and is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).

Rebecca’s doctoral research investigated the risk factors for depression among older adults living in residential aged care. She is therefore very experienced working with life-stage issues for older adults in aged care and the challenges they face. Her research highlighted the different ways in which older adults can effect change in low mood, including through sleep interventions, improving specific types of social relationships, increasing a sense of mastery, and working on a sense of meaning and purpose in life--despite the challenges of aging.

Rebecca is passionate about working with older adults to improve their mental health and sense of wellbeing while they are living in aged care.

Clinical Experience and Background

Rebecca has extensive experience engaging and working with older adults in aged care. Her clinical experience also includes DBT for individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder in the public mental health system (Victoria), psycho-oncology for women with breast cancer (Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre, Melbourne), and alcohol and drug counselling (Taskforce Community Agency).

She completed her professional doctorate in clinical psychology at Monash University, Melbourne, and completed her graduate and postgraduate diplomas in psychology at the University of Melbourne.

Jacqueline Spencer is a qualified and trained Clinical Psychologist (Registrar). She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).

Jacquie works with adults, couples and adolescents in the areas of relationship issues, complex PTSD, borderline personality disorder, adjustment issues, depression, trauma, grief and loss, addiction and other issues.

Using a warm and non-judgemental approach, Jacquie assists clients to gain insight into their present-day problems by identifying their unhelpful life patterns. Using psychodynamic principles and other modalities, she then helps clients to work on healing these experiences and to create meaningful change.

Clinical experience and background

Jacquie completed an Honours degree in psychology in Sydney before moving to Perth to complete her postgraduate training at Murdoch University. She is soon to submit her doctoral research project (PhD) that examines whether individuals with alexithymia (a poor ability to identify their emotions) can read the facial expressions of others.

Jacquie has many years’ experience in running group therapy programs in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings. She has also worked with clients with a range of presenting problems in private practice.

She has experience with Psychodynamic therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Imagery Rescripting, Schema therapy and Compassion-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Jacquie has tutored psychology and statistics at university level and taught martial arts to adults and children.

She helps her clients to cultivate a gentler and more accepting approach to experience that reduces stress and prevents the spiral of negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Jon is experienced in working alongside children (from 3 years of age), adolescents and young adults. He also has a strong focus on working with boys and males. He enjoys helping his clients alleviate their distress and assisting them in gaining a better understanding of the origin of their difficulties. Jon’s areas of interest include Anxiety, Behaviour Management, Body Image Issues, Depression, Difficulties with Emotional Regulation, Eating Disorders, Exam Stress, Identity Issues, Issues Around Sexuality, Learning Disabilities (ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia/Dysgraphia etc), Relationship Issues, School Transition/Refusal Issues, Self-Harm, Sexuality Issues and Substance Abuse.

Jon obtained his Masters of Psychology (Counselling) Degree from Curtin University and also holds a qualification in Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Jon has predominantly worked with individuals between 3-25 years of age and has knowledge of the appropriate developmental milestones. Jon also commonly works with the parents of children and adolescents he sees to provide the best support for all individuals involved. Jon has done the majority of his work in school settings, where he has become accustomed to many of the issues experienced by children and adolescents. By doing so, he is aware of the guidelines and criteria for disability adjustments for timed assessments under the Schools Curriculum Standards Authority (SCSA) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB Diploma).

Apart from working with children, adolescent and young adults, Jon also has experience working with men, specifically around male-dominated issues. In September 2019 he spoke at an International Conference on Men’s Health with his topic being “Why Men Don’t’ Talk”.

In regards to research, Jon has covered a range of topics and has written two dissertations. Jon’s dissertations include The Effect of Anxiety on The Emotional Match of Mother-Child Dyads in Hearing Impaired Children (2016) and The Role of Sense of Belonging in Digital Piracy: A Qualitative Approach (2012).

Dr Daniel Parker is a senior clinical psychologist who works with adults, those in mid-life, and older adults. He provides psychotherapy treatment for a wide range of issues, including depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, life-stage adjustments and transitions, coping with health challenges, pain management, grief and loss, relationship challenges and overcoming barriers to engagement with others. Trained in both CBT and psychodynamic approaches, he views psychotherapy as a collaborative process through which clients can address life challenges, feel relief of emotional difficulties, build emotional resilience, and work to achieve a deeper sense of engagement with self and others.

Dr Dan Parker is an AHPRA-registered clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience in providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples and groups, and consultation, training and supervision to health practitioners and organisations. He has worked in both Australia and the US, and has broad experience in work with individuals with comorbid and complex mental and physical health conditions, those seeking recovery from substance use problems, and with psychotherapy to address life transitions, family of origin issues, health challenges, and issues in aging. He is member of the Australian Psychological Society, the National LGBTI Health Alliance, and has specialisations in issues of sexuality and gender diversity, living with HIV and chronic health conditions, and in work with mid-life and older adults.

Leigh is devoted to providing an approachable and flexible therapy experience by tailoring treatments to meet adults and adolescent’s personal goals and needs. Utilising neuroscience and behavioural and mindfulness-based therapies, Leigh aims to help his clients not only manage and resolve the issues that they present with but to also cultivate deep meaning and purposefulness in their lives. Steve is a Clinical Psychologist Registrar registered with AHPRA, and a member of the Australian Clinical Psychologists Association, Perth Complex Trauma Professional Health Network and Perth Gender Mental Health Network.

Steve is experienced in working with children, adolescents, adults and families, with an interest in those undertaking FIFO work. Steve’s therapeutic style is client centred, holistic and compassionate and he works collaboratively with clients to reach therapy goals using evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, schema therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy, EMDR and psychodynamic principles. He has a special interest in evolving life patterns uncovered in therapy. He has conducted research on attachment and non-suicidal self-injury.

Steve has completed his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and has worked in private practice and not-for-profit industry, with experience working with the Department of Communities - Child Protection and Family Support. Steve also has experience working in the State Major Trauma Unit at Royal Perth Hospital. Steve is also a qualified industrial chemist with a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) and a 10 year career working in mining and resources in Australia including FIFO. He brings this extensive experience and understanding to his clients.

Steve offers therapy for a broad range of psychological, emotional and life change issues, including all forms of depression, anxiety, worry and stress, difficulties with emotion regulation, work stress, trauma, and interpersonal problems. Clinical Psychologist

Joanne is an AHPRA registered Clinical Psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Joanne works with adults of all ages and has extensive experience the areas of anxiety, mood disorders (including depression), adjustment to life transitions, chronic illness, pain management, trauma and grief and loss. Joanne believes in creating a safe emotional space whilst working alongside her clients to help them achieve meaningful change in their everyday life.

Joanne has undertaken training in evidence based approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Schema therapy, Dialectical behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and Eye movement desensitisation reprocessing (EMDR). Joanne combines aspects from these therapeutic approaches to formulate an individualised treatment plans to help clients achieve their goals.

Joanne is warm, compassionate and would love to work with you to overcome life’s many challenges. Joanne sees therapy as an opportunity for you to engage in empathic self-reflection to promote a deeper sense of understanding of your relationship with both yourself and others.

Clinical Experience and background

Joanne completed her honours and master’s degrees at Curtin University of technology. She has over 8 years’ experience in inpatient and outpatient public health services, having worked throughout many of the hospitals in WA. She has specialist skills in the areas of medical rehabilitation and treatment of complex comorbid mental and physical health conditions. Joanne also has extensive experience working with older adults and families that have be impacted by cognitive impairment, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. She provides ongoing education and information sessions within the public health system to patients recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Joanne’s passion and specific areas of interest are in relationship difficulties, adjustment to life transitions, chronic illness, medical rehabilitation and complex mental health conditions.

Psychologist

Samantha is an AHPHA registered Psychologist and a Medicare Provider. She is an active member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) College of Counselling Psychologists and the Association of Counselling Psychologists (ACP). Samantha provides counselling and psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.

Samantha believes in a client-centred and strengths-based approach that is aligned with the needs and goals of the individual. She adopts a compassionate and empathic stance. Samantha seeks to offer a respectful and safe space where clients feel empowered and supported to explore their difficulties, become aware of emotional, thinking and behaviour patterns, find meaning, adopt positive coping strategies and enhance psychological well-being.

Samantha provides assessment, formulation, diagnosis, and treatment for a range of psychological problems and life issues including: Depression and low mood, Anxiety disorders, Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder, Family conflict and separation, Grief and Loss, Perinatal mental health and parenting difficulties, Addictions, Body image and low self-esteem, Stress, coping and adjustment to life transitions, Difficulties with interpersonal relationships, Personality disorders, and Work-related issues.

Clinical experience and Background

Samantha obtained her BPsych (Hons) from the University of Liverpool Hope in the UK and her MA (Counselling Psychology) from Curtin University. She has experience working with people across the lifespan in community mental health, women’s health, and child protection settings. A large proportion of Samantha’s work and training has focused on providing trauma-informed, attachment-based and culturally sensitive psychological treatment to children, parents and families.

Samantha has completed training in several evidence-based therapeutic techniques. Her approach is integrative and places primary focus on the therapeutic alliance as a confidential and safe space for healing and growth. She draws upon treatment modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Existential Therapy, Attachment-Informed Therapy, and creative modalities such as Play and Art therapy. Samantha is also trained to provide Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) for adults, adolescents and children and she is a certified Circle of Security Parenting program facilitator.
