Bradley Calamel

Psychologist

Bradley is a registered Psychologist, whose primary goal is to create a safe space whereby he can help improve your well-being and fulfillment in life.

Bradley received his Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Murdoch University and his Graduate Diploma in Education (School Psychology and Special Needs Teaching) from the University of Western Australia.

Bradley has worked in primary and secondary schools, education support centres, private practice,  and consulted for the Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorders Service (CAHDS) WA. In the early part of his career, he also worked in research at the Telethon Kids Institute (formerly: Telethon Institute for Child Health Research), for the ‘Looking at Language’ study.

Bradley supports children, adolescents and adults with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, bullying, school avoidance, self-harm, learning difficulties/disabilities , parenting, very challenging behaviours, grief, self-esteem, sexuality, and complex trauma. He also provides support for people with relationship issues and life-coaching. Bradley’s professional, personal and cultural background also affords him a particularly developed insight into the complex lives of people in our diverse and multicultural society.

Bradley is a warm and enthusiastic psychologist with an emphasis on creating a respectful space for exploration of challenges and is passionate about helping others to develop skills, problem solve, foster self-compassion and psychological flexibility through life’s up and downs. He appreciates that each person presents differently and as such adjusts his therapeutic style to tailor each client’s needs and circumstances. And with that in mind, he has a heartfelt belief that the core of his practice relies on the quality of the collaborative and genuine therapeutic relationship.  He is trained in several therapeutic approaches and has a keen interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS).

The ACT and CPS models acknowledge that doing well is always preferable to not doing well and that our brain (evolutionary brain) is the ultimate survival tool, doing what it was designed to do; create psychological pain and look out for danger. Bradley supports his clients by cultivating a willingness to accept and hold unwanted inner experiences lightly by ‘normalising’ human suffering, fostering compassion for self and others, and moving towards things in life that matter the most through committed actions. These approaches in therapy have been regularly acknowledged by his clients to create long lasting change, so if you are seeking a psychologist who can support you in this way, then Bradley is likely to be the psychologist for you.

Naomi Terpsis

Psychologist

As an AHPRA registered psychologist, Naomi's goal is to help you reach your potential.  Naomi received her Honours Degree in Psychology from Murdoch University and her Graduate Diploma in Education (School Psychology and Special Needs Teaching) from UWA.  Since 2012, Naomi has worked in primary and secondary schools.  She has supported children, adolescents and adults experiencing a range of learning difficulties, developmental delays, very challenging behaviours and mental health concerns -- including clients from non-English speaking backgrounds, and families who have experienced significant trauma.

Naomi is a passionate and energetic psychologist who is particularly proud of her ability to help others build the skills they need to develop positive relationships, find meaning in their experiences and to face life's challenges with courage, confidence, and self compassion.

While Naomi is trained in a range of counselling techniques, she is particularly fond of using third wave therapy approaches such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Collaborative & Proactive Solutions.  Moving away from a deficit model of the human experience, with its emphasis on diagnostic labels and symptoms — ACT and CPS appreciate that we would all do well if we could but the human brain is naturally hardwired to produce psychological pain and suffering.  Naomi does not interpret her client's difficulties with living as a sign they are broken, or in need of fixing.  Rather, she marvels at the adaptive capacity of human brain to keep us safe—even though it hurts! With energy, warmth, compassion and care, Naomi supports her clients to foster a sense of willingness to experience what it means to be a real live human being — including all the ups and downs they will inevitably experience throughout life.  Through building their psychological flexibility, resilience and problem solving, Naomi's clients gain personal insight and most importantly, the essential skills and strategies they will need to cope better and achieve a rich, full and meaningful life.  Naomi finds the ACT and CPS approaches extremely refreshing, and personally satisfying — and she thinks you will too.
