Psychologist

Angela is a registered psychologist and  has significant experience working with families, children and adolescents, and is attuned to the needs of parents. She has a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and has worked in a variety of settings. Angela is experienced in a variety of counselling approaches (incl. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Family Systems, Attuned Parenting, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness). Angela works with adults, children and adolescents, as well as families.

Her therapeutic areas of interest include trauma, anxiety (including generalised anxiety, separation anxiety, selective mutism, panic and social anxiety), panic disorder, perfectionism, depression and emotional difficulties, Autism, addictions, grief and loss, self harm and suicidal ideation, domestic violence, stress and adjusting to life stressors, postnatal depression and woman’s health, family and parenting stress, as well as emotion regulation, anger management, ADHD, abuse and  behavioural, social and learning difficulties. 

She is experienced in completing diagnostic assessments. Her area of assessment interest include ADHD/ADD, Behavioural concerns, Communication Disorders, Educational concerns / Developmental Delays, Gifted and Talented, and Specific Learning Difficulties (known as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia).

Angela also works with clients across the lifespan and has a special interest in women’s mental health, and providing counselling for antenatal and postnatal depression & anxiety, infertility, perinatal loss, and attachment. Her warm and compassionate nature is evident in the way she works with clients, and she is well-known for providing quality, and exceptional psychological care to all her clients, and tailors her approach to meet the needs of her clients. Angela prioritises building a therapeutic relationship with her clients one which ensures her clients feel safe, comfortable and supported without judgement.

Annelise Krynauw

Provisional Psychologist

Annelise is a psychologist who works therapeutically with adults and adolescents. She holds an MA (Clinical Psychology) from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa, and has recently relocated to Australia to join her children.

Annelise mainly uses psychodynamic approaches, as well as Gestalt therapy, EMDR, Hypnotherapy, and Schema therapy. She offers a safe, confidential space where people can make sense of their feelings, thoughts and behaviour.

Lia van der Kooij

Psychologist

Lia is a registered psychologist and Director of Clear Health Psychology Ellenbrook. Lia holds a Masters Degree in Psychology and has worked in private practice for the last 8 years. She is experienced in working with adults who have a range of presenting problems including depression, anxiety and worry, stress management, relationship difficulties, alcohol and other substance use issues, coping with grief and loss, and work-related issues. Lia has a special interest in the treatment of anxiety including health anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, and generalised anxiety.

With a warm and down-to-earth approach, Lia combines components from a variety of therapeutic approaches and works collaboratively with clients to help them gain a greater understanding of their difficulties and achieve their therapy goals.

Jenna Trainor

Psychologist

Jenna is a registered psychologist who is passionate about the role psychology can play in helping people bring about positive change and improve their social and emotional wellbeing.

Jenna works with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings. She supports clients dealing with a range of areas of difficulty such as (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, sleep, PTSD, OCD, worry, self-harm, stress, relationship issues and self-esteem /confidence issues. Jenna is available to conduct Cognitive, Intelligence and ADHD testing for children and adults. She utilises a range of evidence-based strategies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Emotion Focussed Therapy (EFT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).

Clinical Experience and Background

Jenna has a Master’s in Health Psychology and Clinical Psychology. Jenna tailors her approach to therapy based on the individual circumstances of her client and their presenting issue. In all aspects of the therapeutic relationship, Jenna emphasises a non-judgmental, collaborative and goal-orientated process, in which her clients feel understood, heard, respected and supported assisting them to establish an optimistic outlook for the future.
