Steve Remic

Clinical Psychologist Registrar

Steve is a Clinical Psychologist Registrar registered with AHPRA, and a member of the Australian Clinical Psychologists Association, Perth Complex Trauma Professional Health Network and Perth Gender Mental Health Network.

Steve is experienced in working with children, adolescents, adults and families, with an interest in those undertaking FIFO work. Steve’s therapeutic style is client centred, holistic and compassionate and he works collaboratively with clients to reach therapy goals using evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, schema therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy, EMDR and psychodynamic principles. He has a special interest in evolving life patterns uncovered in therapy. He has conducted research on attachment and non-suicidal self-injury.

Clinical Experience & Background

Steve has completed his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and has worked in private practice and not-for-profit industry, with experience working with the Department of Communities - Child Protection and Family Support. Steve also has experience working in the State Major Trauma Unit at Royal Perth Hospital. Steve is also a qualified industrial chemist with a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) and a 10 year career working in mining and resources in Australia including FIFO. He brings this extensive experience and understanding to his clients.

Steve offers therapy for a broad range of psychological, emotional and life change issues, including all forms of depression, anxiety, worry and stress, difficulties with emotion regulation, work stress, trauma, and interpersonal problems. Using a non-judgmental approach, Steve works with clients and their families to diminish distressing symptoms, shift unhelpful life patterns, and find meaning in their experience.
