Psychologist
Michelle is an experienced Psychologist who is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia. She works with clients of varying ages including adults, adolescents and children. Her areas of experience and interest include trauma, phobias, anxiety, panic disorder, separation anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, work-related problems, parenting challenges, adjustment to chronic illness, grief and low self-esteem.
Michelle utilises effective psychological treatments which include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative and Solution Focussed Brief Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Michelle will tailor therapy to each person’s unique needs.
Clinical experience and background
Michelle first began working in mental health 17 years ago and has been a registered psychologist for the past 13 years. She has worked in a variety of roles which include specialised trauma services (including war-related trauma), community mental health, vocational rehabilitation, child protection and private practice. She is passionate about working in partnership with clients and creating meaningful change for better psychological health.
