Kelly is a Registered Psychologist with AHPRA and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Kelly has worked in the field of childhood development, mental healthcare, counselling, education, developmental psychology, research and therapy for 17 years. Kelly is experienced in working with children, teens, adults and couples struggling with stresses that impact developing and maintaining healthy and meaningful relationships at home, in the community and the workplace. She also specialises in working with parents and other family members to assist children with attachment issues learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.
Kelly has extensive knowledge and experience in cognitive and neurodevelopment assessment and offers evidence-based interventions. Kelly tailors psychological therapy to meet the needs of clients who are experiencing stressful life transitions, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief and loss. She has been trained in several evidence based therapeutic techniques including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT); Relaxation and Mindfulness practices; Solutions Focused Therapy (SFBT); Family Systems therapy and Triple P Parenting Stepping Stones program.
Clinical experience and background
Kelly completed her undergraduate psychology degree at Edith Cowan University and received an Honours degree in Psychology from James Cook University in Queensland. Kelly then completed a Master of Applied Psychology in Educational and Developmental Psychology with a Graduate Diploma in Education (coursework and practicums) at the University of Western Australia.
Kelly is a passionate advocate for the strength and resilience of the human brain, that throughout our lives our brains continue to rewire and change when we apply ourselves to learning and practicing new functional ways of seeing and experiencing the world. Kelly’s approach to therapy is person centred, and she works alongside clients to promote a shared responsibility for trust in the therapeutic process empowering them to create meaningful, lasting change for themselves. Kelly assists her clients to feel safe and nurtured, trusting in the confidential nature of what they share, respecting and admiring their strong act of courage and humility displayed by clients taking steps towards change.
