Clinical Psychologist

Annette has endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA.

Annette is a relatable psychologist who brings a honest and transparent approach to working with clients. She believes that everyone has the potential to live a rich and meaning life and works with clients to identify and understand blockages that prevent the client from living the life they want. Annette enjoys helping clients to develop insight and enhance an individual’s skill set to better manage life’s challenges.

Clinical Experience and Background

Annette completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Curtin University and worked as a registered psychologist from 2005. Annette has also completed a post graduate diploma in Public Sector Management (Flinders University) and a certificate in criminology (sexual offender management) through the University of Melbourne. She has worked in the private and public sectors and has experience working with couples, families, adolescents, children, and adults.

Her career started in small business being a successful owner of hairdressing salons. Her passion for working with people led her complete a psychology degree. Annette is career driven and has spent the last 10 years in management roles as well as private practice. Her experience working in both the private and public sector has fostered the development of a high level of skill in  managing work-related stress, interpersonal issues at work, and coaching for others in career development. Annette enjoys delivering training to organisations increasing staff’s knowledge and skills.

Annette has experience working with couples and families in crises being part of new government initiative targeting high risk families through a licensed program, Multi-Systemic Therapy. She became the Principal Psychologist for Youth Justice and throughout her time in government has developed and delivered services to many regional and very remote communities.  Annette has experience working with complex presentations in both adults and children. She also has experience working with individuals with disabilities including Autism, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and intellectual difficulties. 

Annette has a warm and honest approach to counselling. She draws from a range of evidenced based approaches such as systems theory (working across different systems), Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and, Motivational Interviewing).  Annette seeks to individualise her treatment approaches and focuses on building a positive therapeutic relationship that can enhance the effectiveness of outcomes for her clients.
